Welcome to Happy Camp

Happy Camp: Beautiful view down from the surrounding mountains.

Nestled in the middle of the Siskiyou National Forest, the historic BIG FOOT RV PARK is located in beautiful downtown Happy Camp. We have all of the amenities to turn you into a Happy Camper. Cabins, showers, laundry, Wireless Internet access, spacious RV spots with 50 amp/240 volt hook ups, all located right across the street from Parry's Market, the post office and Indian Creek.

The tiny frontier hamlet is only 20 miles from the Oregon Border. The Pacific Crest Trail hikers come 17 miles to Happy Camp to stock up on supplies and have a little rest. We have gas, food, lodging, and even an airport! We proudly boast numerous outdoor recreation activities such as hunting, fishing, river rafting, gold mining, jade rock hounding, hiking, camping, backpacking, mushroom hunting, cross country skiing, motor cycling, biking, or, if you want to walk on the wild side, Big Foot Exploring.

In addition to the sights, the local residents share a common bond. Most of the people who live here do so because Happy Camp is where they want to live rather than where they have to live, which translates to residents who love their community. Almost everyone you will meet in Happy Camp is a unique character, which provides for a very diverse blend of ideas and lifestyles. To match the population diversity, the environmental diversity is only matched in 6 other areas in North America. We are located in 1 of 7 geological Knots. What's a KNOT? Simply, our terrain and climate have more diverse plant and animal life than almost any other place on earth.

It's true; we don't have a Starbucks, Britney Spears, or American Idol. We do have great values for your tourist dollar. Yoga classes for five dollars are the norm. Massages take your mind to a happy place a must do when you arrive. Happy Camp's vibrant art scene is reminiscent of Ashland, Oregon's in its infancy. Happy Camp's art crowd convenes in two locations. The first spot is at the Big Foot Statue where the Klamath Siskiyou Art Center hosts monthly art shows and celebrations. KSAC is working on raising funds for a new art center. The Friday potlucks are open to the public and a great way to check out the local color.

Then, off to historic downtown where the Klamath Knot Arts Council is home to the THE KNOTHEADS. The KNOT Building houses ongoing programs and activities. Rock hounding, drumming, photography, art classes, and youth workshops are just a few activities happening at the building. Check the schedule. There is something for everybody at the KNOT.

Happy Campers are very social folks. We love to eat, laugh and tell tall tales. So, don't be surprised if you meet someone new and they ask you to come to dinner. Yes, they really mean it. Oh, did we mention the killer Blackberry Cobbler?
